Biography
I am passionate about physics. The most fundamental science, its tenets guide our thinking about the world around us and underpin every aspect of modern technology. Many people view physics as a difficult topic reserved for an elite few, but I whole-heartedly reject that premise. I believe that anyone, regardless of background, can – and should – learn physics. I grew up in Greenville, Pennsylvania, about an hour north of Pittsburgh, and spent most of my youth playing on old steam locomotives in the local railroad's roundhouse. I knew I wanted a career in physics the moment I took my first physics class at age 17. I went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in physics. It was while pursuing my degrees that I discovered my passion for teaching, and I joined the faculty of Manlius Pebble Hill in 1993. I'm married to the wonderful Annmarie Gregory, MPH's MS/US Vocal Music teacher, and our daughter is a member of MPH's Kindergarten class. |
